Makati City shares best practices with LGU San Jose

SAN JOSE, Antique – The Local Government of San Jose de Buenavista was host to Makati City Mayor Jejomar C. Binay who was in town recently to further strengthen the twinning agreement established between the two LGUs last Nov. 2008.
Mayor Rony L. Molina of San Jose de Buenavista is hopeful of the economic upliftment and improvement of quality of social services for the San Josenhons with the commitment of support offered by Mayor Binay.
Molina said that with the best practices that Makati City government shared, a lot could be done and adopted in San Jose as long as the residents be receptive to change and demands attuned to the present time.
Mayor Jojo Binay in his talk with stakeholders and partner NGOs, PO’s, academe and business sectors, shared how they made a turn-around in Makati’s economy from a bankrupt government to a progressive financial hub in the Philippines. Binay said that political will, the common vision for the development paved the way for the government transformation that is Makati today.
While admitting that a lot has still to be done for San Jose, Mayor Molina articulated that through a vibrant and dynamic leadership anchored in a true sense of peoples participation, sharing a common vision for development, San Jose can follow the footstep of Makati City aiming for a world class local governance, providing the highest level of basic social economic services, breakthrough technologies, financially stable with competent and professional civil servants.
The visit of Mayor Binay ended on a friendly note with Makati City committing to extend its helping hands like a big brother to San Jose de Buenavista. (LGU SJ/PIA)
