Reporters, editors, commentators and anchors of various newspapers, radio and cable television stations wore black shirts and marched along the major streets in San Jose bearing placards. They then held a candle lighting ceremony in front of the statue of Evelio Javier at the EHJ Freedom Park.
The condemnation rally was also in support of the actions being made by the National Union of the Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP).
Ely Suyom, Hot FM-Hamtic news anchor and NUJP provincial coordinator, said the Antique media is calling for the swift resolution of the case and for the government to bring the perpetrators to face the full force of the law.
